Today a friend of mine will be taking a heroic exit from this world.
Maggie has opted to use the M.A.I.D (Medical Assistance In Dying) program.
Margie developed ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and deteriorated quickly. She made the decision with her family to not live under those extreme circumstances.
I was not given enough time with beautiful soul, but I am still so very thankful that our life paths crossed.
Margie in mere months went from dancing and singing with our choir, to unable to move, struggling to breath without assistive devices, and living in pain.
I’m incredibly sad to see such a wondrous light snuffed out far to early, but also so incredibly thankful that she has chosen to donate her organs to others. Her passing will lead to helping so many others. She is ending her life as she lived it…in Service.
Today, I will light a candle and say many prayers for Margie and her family.
I will grieve her passing, because it’s hard to say goodbye, but I’m so thankful for the time we had together, making music, recording her legacy song, and laughing together.
Thank You Margie – may your soul ascend and light up the heavens as they have done here on earth.
